INTRACOMP: What role does collaborative cultural expression play in increasingly inter- and transcultural societies?

The European Commission has announced that it will award nearly 3 million Euros to a consortium of 13 universities and arts organizations across Europe and the South Pacific, to advance cultural democracy. The project is entitled “Intercultural and Transcultural Competence Through Collaborative Cultural Expression” (INTRACOMP), and will develop global, regional and national educational frameworks and policy directives for arts and culture.

Project GEDIS investigates gender roles in information science

In the project ‘Gender Diversity in Information Science: Challenges in Higher Education’ (GEDIS), the team is investigating gender aspects in library and information science degree programmes. It is looking at teaching materials, curricula and academic citation practices. Initial results show that the gender perspective is hardly addressed in curricula. An analysis of the reading lists used by all partners in their teaching clearly shows that women are severely underrepresented in the works cited.

Moving Europe – Young people explore (hi)stories of migration

The project ‘Moving Europe – Negotiating legacies of migration at the museum’ brings together young people, museum staff, academics and representatives of migrant NGOs from across Europe. They take a nuanced approach to examining experiences and backgrounds of migration and its effects. The aim is to raise awareness of the complexity of migration.
